How can I advertise my online radio station?

How can I advertise my online radio station?

I need a cheap way of doing it. I've got a whole lot of free time and no one's hiring out here and I need something to occupy my time, running an online music radio station is a excellent way to do it right? How do I get the word out?

Answer by hoodoorocket
I’m guessing any success with advertising your radio station would place you on the radar of the music establishment’s officially authorized goon squad, whose sole job is to catch and persecute permission/copyright/royalty violators. Now there seem to be more ASCAP/BMI lawyers than music listeners.

You’re excellent if you stay below the radar, grow your listener base by playing excellent stuff, not by advertising. Take stop and desist letters seriously and fold up shop once the suits knock on your door. Be foolish about it and they’ll take the shirt off your back.

Have fun, support local bands, plow a global audience, cut and run to have fun another day.

Excellent luck.
