What free, online radio station fulfills these requirements?

What free, online radio station fulfills these requirements?

Okay, I want to find an online station kind of like (or a lot like) the ancient Yahoo music station, from about 3 being ago. It had a rating system (0-5 stars for that website), and it played both songs you like and recommended songs. So, for example, I’d rate a few Three Days Grace songs really high, then it would play other TDG songs, as well as the ones I rated, and as well as songs by other artists that were similar to it. If I rated an artist highly, it would play all their songs, as well as similar artists. It worked well for me. I loved it. Then, they had to go and change it on me. :( So if anyone knows of free, online radio stations like that, I would be very grateful if you could tell me. I tried to find one on Google, but all the stations that came up either played all songs by artists you liked or all songs of a particular influence. They all were similar to a genre or band. There were no mixes. Help? Delight and thank you!!

I miss the ancient yahoo radio too!

lastfm.com is okay.. I reckon you might like it. You can type in a band and have it play artists similar to them. For example, you type in Three Days Grace then there’s a button you can click on that will say “Play Three Days Grace Radio” which won’t play Three Days Grace only.. but other bands with similar signal as them and in the same general genre.

It also keeps a list of your reccently listened to tracks/stations. I’m not sure if you can rate songs though.

Certainly try Pandora. You can start a station based on an artist or a song and even add more “seed” artists/songs for it to grow from. It will play songs by the “seed” artist(s) as well as other similar songs. When a song comes on, you can choose to give it a thumbs up, thumbs down, or skip it. If you give it a thumbs up, it will know to play more songs by that artist as well as other similar songs/artists. If you give it a thumbs down, it won’t play again and it won’t be used to find you more songs that are like it because it will know that you’re not into it. The more you use the thumbs up/down function, the better your station will be at playing songs that you like!

Your computer? here’s some thoughts:

I prefer iTunes, Windows Media Player or AOL because they are huge companies that are not going to clutter up your computer (well, with the possible exception of AOL). They are all free and all offer an astounding array of choices.
