What is the legal way to download music online and burn a free CD for business contacts?

My boss is interested in making a CD comprised of staff members’ favorite summer-themed songs to be sent to friends, business contacts, etc. free of charge. We are wondering what would be a legal procedure to download music online and then burn it onto a CD to be sent out. Thank you in advance for any guidance on this issue.
Note: This must be LEGAL. It’s for my boss and we’re a successful company. Taking a chance at getting sued would be very dumb for us.

Buy the songs of iTunes or Walmart. Usually anything done free of charge is illegal.

I’d say for the sake of being economical and nothing else, make sure you have a fast data bearer/packet data service! like HSDPA! GPRS is as slow and stubborn as a mule!

type any song you want….presto! You may even get the whole album.

Mp3 downloading sites such as mp3.com impose monthly fees, and for each download only a few cents.

if you want royalty-free music, just go to Newgrounds.com and go to the audio portal. Lots of songs in many genres.
