why do American Networks and online radio stations limit their online streaming to other countries?

I am a Canadian citizen and I am extremely frustrated with all the restricted content that i cant view online on American sites.
for example i cant view videos on Hulu.com, nbc, abc, cbs, mtv.com , fox etc. i cant even stream certain American radio stations that i listened to before (ex. kiss fm LA).
Why all the restrictions?
i am able to watch nbc, abc, cbs, fox, and mtv. i give them ratings but yet for online content i am not given the same treatment to view their content online.
i don’t see any harm in viewing content like behind the scene and full episodes of show i give ratings to and watch on my tv.

ps. i have also found some country restrictions on websites like youtube and veoh. can they do that?

the country restrictions have nothing to do with you being allowed or not allowed to see the show. the restrictions are there because the server is in the use and streaming anything to another country uses up way too much bandwidth. it is one thing to allow access to an entire country but an entirely different thing to allow it to the whole world and then have to communicate it through the few cables that do go to other countries. in short it is just cost prohibitive

when i use itunes radio to listen to radio online, and sometimes i use radio.com, do they have all radio stations on the planet, or is it only relevent to where a person lives like with a real radio or can you find any radio station on the planet. its confusing.

“I Told You So” is a 1988 song written and originally recorded by American country music singer Randy Travis from his album Always & Forever. However it was first recored on his “Live at the Nashville Palace” album under his stage name “Randy Ray”. It become a local hit and one of his most requested songs at the club. In 2007, the song was covered by Carrie Underwood on her album Carnival Ride. Her version was released in February 2009 and was re-recorded and re-released in March as a duet with Travis. Travis’s version reached Number one on the US Billboard and Canadian RPM country singles charts in June 1988. Underwood’s and Travis’s duet reached Number one on the Canadian Country Singles Chart and peaked at Number two on the US country charts in 2009. “I Told You So” is a mid-tempo in which the narrator poses a hypothetical situation, asking how his lover would react if he said he wanted to come back home. He asks if she would say that she loves him, or “simply laugh at [him] and say ‘I told you so’” because she has found someone else. Randy Travis wrote the song and initially pitched to other artists such as Conway Twitty, Gary Morris, Lee Greenwood and Earl Thomas Conley all of whom turned it down. Travis first recored this for his 1983 “Live at the Nashville Palace” under this stage name at the time “Randy Ray”. It was a local hit for him. Travis re-recored it for his Always & Forever and released it as a single. His rendition was a Number One hit on the Billboard
