Rapidshare, Megaupload and sites like that are safe. Torrents are not, since they can be monitored by the RIAA/MPAA. Downloading from rapidshare is safe because it uses HTTP protocol. Only your ISP can see what you download over HTTP, but it’s illegal for them to use deep packet inspection.

I recently learned that there is full-length movies on youtube. I know of several downloaders for fixed youtube videos, but none seem to work with the movies. I would want to download the movies for playback on my ipod nano, nothing more. Are these movies protected? Or is there a legal way to save them?
