You need to have MIDI software like Cakewalk or Finale. Then you can watch it play the music as the notes go by, slow it down if you want, and even print it.

Ay of the media players can play them. Just right click on the symbols and choose save as and you can save it to your hard disk.

This website has thousands of pieces of music before the 1920s. Be attentive though that this site has a huge full score library, but very limited instrumental parts. All downloads are free and in PDF format.
