Which Pixies Album Should I Start With?
I’ve bought 2 songs on iTunes already (Where Is My Mind? and Gouge Away) and I absolutely love them! I’m previewing Come On Pilgrim, and I like it, but I just want some other opinions. Which albums do you think are the best? I read a lot online that Doolittle and Surfer Rosa are very popular but I’m more interested in listening to older Pixies.

The “Come on Pilgrim” EP (1987) and their debut album “Surfer Rosa” (1988) are my favorites. “Doolittle” (1989) is excellent as well.

If you’re into more raw, indie-ish music I would say Surfer Rosa.

If you’re into an album that more copies Doolittle’s formula, but a bit more hard rock-y I recommend Bossanova

Surfer Rosa definitely. And then Come On Pilgrim (even though it was only a demo) and then Bossanova. There’s nothing wrong with owning them all. Tee hee hee.
