When wiki answers says life span does it mean Dog Years or Human years?

I was on wiki answers and looking at “Chihuahua” it said life span 15-18 years did it mean human years or dog years please answer. Thanks

Human years. In dog years the chi would be considerably older.

there’s NO SUCH THING as “dog years”

A year is a year. A year is measured by the earth’s rotation around the sun. The rotation occours at the same rate for your dog as it does for your. Your dog just has fewer years to live than you do.

“dog years” is a humanizing concept designed so that people can rationalize why their pets dont live longer. Its not any true measurement, and isnt even accurate.

Anytime you see a life span listed for a particular breed, it is in human years.
