Give your answer to this question below!

A super-evolved alien species has invaded Earth. They learned our planet after receiving a stray transmission–of The Adventures of Pluto Nash. So, of course, they loathe humanity. They have abducted you (you deserved it, going out by yourself, trying to be a hero) and you are now faced with a series of decisions. They present you with two artists/bands. You can save one’s discography–future generations will be able to hear their music, etc.–but the artist/band you don’t choose? Their discography is ruined forever. Each album, single, etc. Their music will disappear from our collective memory, as if it was never recorded at all. All right?

Which would you SAVE? –
Beastie Boys or Public Rival?
The Beatles or David Bowie?
Black Sabbath or the Clash?
Bob Dylan or Miles Davis?
Édith Piaf or Nina Simone?
Conservational Day or Oasis?
Led Zeppelin or Pink Floyd?
New Order or U2?
Pavement or Sonic Youth?
Pixies or the Smashing Pumpkins?
The Rolling Stones or the Who?
The Strokes or Yeah Yeah Yeahs?

Nina Simone

Pink Floyd
U2
Sonic Youth (this one physically hurt…)
Pixies

Answer by Shot Gun (hip space)
Props to the background tale.

I reckon the only way to do this is really selfishly: Which do I really listen to more of, in any case of cultural impact, yada yada yada.

Beastie Boys or Public Rival?: Public Rival, but it’s close
The Beatles or David Bowie?: Bowie
Black Sabbath or the Clash?: The Clash
Bob Dylan or Miles Davis?: Dylan (tough, but whatev)
Édith Piaf or Nina Simone? Nina
Conservational Day or Oasis? Meh, but Conservational Day I estimate
Led Zeppelin or Pink Floyd? Zeppelin
New Order or U2? New Order
Pavement or Sonic Youth? Sonic Youth
Pixies or the Smashing Pumpkins? Pixies
The Rolling Stones or the Who? Stones
The Strokes or Yeah Yeah Yeahs? Strokes

It was a very cruel go to make me choose between the Beasties and PE, and Dylan and Davis, and then force me to pick Conservational Day and Led Zeppelin.

Chill, Colin.
