what's the best way to get video on demand/movies online in Japan?

what's the best way to get video on demand/movies online in Japan?

Amazon video, Netflix, etc., are unavailable here, what do I do?

Answer by wuzaracer
The easiest idea is to create an iTunes account purchase TV shows and movies through iTunes. I used my USA credit cards and address to create my account. That way I was able to buy and download movies from iTunes even though I was in Japan. You can view the videos right on your PC or Mac, or you can buy an iPod, iPad or even iPhone and watch the movies.

You can try buying a SlingBox and have someone set it up for you at their home in the USA. The drawback there is you have to wake up and watch stuff when it is on back home.

Another idea is to have someone capture the TV shows right onto their PC, and then create small-medium sized video files. They could snail mail a CD or you could use the internet and transfer the files. You could use a peer to peer software to transfer the files. This idea takes some technical skills and a person who likes to do such things.

You have at least two good options:

1. iTunes. As long as you have a US based iTunes account, you can rent/buy any VOD movies available on iTunes – no matter where you are in the world.

2. Get a VPN connection with a US IP address. Once you have a US IP address, you should be able to use all of the sites that restrict usage to people located inside of the US. Here is more info on VPN connections:

There are many more VPN companies – just search Google for “VPN” and you’ll find lots of information on how it works and different companies that provide the service.

WELCOME TO HOXFORD MOVIE?
amazon movies online

Well yeah, just maybe. See, the nice folks over at 1492, Chris Columbus’s outfit, have decided to option my little Werewolf prison romance book. News just went up at Variety. Officially the first thing I’ve ever written to get a sniff of hollywood basically.

I’m also bloody chuffed Variety gives a mention to Wormwood:Gentlemen Corpse too. Heh.

And as a shameless plug ( Hey, I can’t grow a beard as well as Billy Mays but at least I’m not as loud ) if you still want to pick the book up you can grab it off Amazon of course, or if you really want to, signed/personalized editions off the IDW Publishing online store.

I want to watch Grey’s Anatomy online for free, not have to rent it from Blockbuster. Most of them I have to pay like amazon, or I have to fill out a quiz and give them my cell phone number, then they charge me.

Amazon expansion spree cuts into profit

Prior to the terror-filled times of the Long War—the seemingly endless struggle against the Undine, a paranoid, shape-shifting race once known only as Species 8472—enemy sleeper agents quietly penetrated every echelon of Federation society, as well as other starfaring civilizations throughout the Alpha and Beta quadrants. The ensuing conflict shook humanity to its very core, often placing its highest ideals against a pure survival instinct. All too frequently, the Undine War demanded the har
