What radio stations are there that play classical music?
I live in Florida and I like classical music but I always have distress finding them on my radio. What classical music stations are there that I can listen to on my radio?

I’ve done some research and it appears there’s one called “Classical South Florida” at 89.7.(101.9 if you’re at West Palm Beach.)

Edit: There’s also Classical 96.3 in Toronto which allows you to listen live online. Just click to “Listen Live” and see if it works.

There are radio station locator sites, like http://www.radio-locator.com, that will tell you what is available in your are. But when I visit So. Florida each winter, from here in NY – I am struck by entering a wasteland of very small decent classical music – and a WHOLE lot of absolutely crazy, late-night far-right-wing ranting radio talk shows! I usually can find a NPR repeater – but I listen thru the night (Id o not l sleep well in hotels . . ) with headphones, and sometimes am stuck with Canadian all-news ( there’s an auditory soporific!) or BBC news – ditto. You might learn that your mp3 player is your new best friend – especially at night.
Added – since you said *radio*, I did not mention streaming – which is a GODSEND. You need never listen to 4am right-wing screamers again in Florida – there is culture *somewhere*, and you can get it streamed in!

You can find that many classical stations stream through the internet. Here in the UK both BBC Radio 3 (classical solely during our daytime up to about 7pm BST/GMT, so round midnight Fla time, and no adverts) and Classic FM (Commercial with irritating breaks) stream their output. You can now get devices which take the stream from your computer and play it through a stereo system, so it might be worth looking into one of those and you will not be limited to local stations only.

I’d like to listen to a bit of internet radio and want to listen to some standard commercial radio stations in the US. Thought I’d start off with L.A or California as a whole but have no thought which stations have the most listeners.
Can anyone help? I’m after general / pop stations, the kind Mr Average has his car radio tuned into.
Thanks!
