How do you download movies off the internet and then put them onto a DVD?

I want to be able to download a movie from an internet website (any excellent recommendations?) onto my laptop so I can view it at any time. And it would be awesome to then be able to burn the downloaded movies from my laptop onto DVD discs which I can place into my TV’s DVD player. Anyone know how to do this?? And a reliable way which limits viruses and so forth. Step by step instructions and detail is appreciated!

you can use zamzar.com to download video from website, then use windows movie maker to edit or burn the video to DVD.

Hi, i just know a program can help you place video on dvd, which is Cucusoft DVD/VCD/SVCD Creator Pro, it enables you to convert and burn any video file directly to VCD, DVD, SVCD, MPEG1 and MPEG2 format.

We like to download movies onto our desktop computer but then must watch them on the tiny monitor screen. We have a 50 inch plasma with TIVO in the next room and wireless internet. Is there an simple way to transfer the downloaded movies from computer to the TIVO so we can watch them on the plasma?

I use a free program called “pyTivo”. Basically it makes the tie between your computer & Tivo and also controls a transcoder that changes the file format to something the Tivo understands.

Should work with a stand lonely Tivo what’s series 2 or newer. (I don’t know if they have it working with the new series 4 Tivos.)

A pain to set up though. You might want to look into a streaming media set top box.

TiVo has a program called TiVo Desktop that can do what you want. If you have the TiVo HD or Premiere, it can directly play Mpeg-2 and H.264/AVC files (MP4). Other formats get transcoded, which can take a long time.

PyTiVo will work, but only from non-encrypted sources. Most legitimate services use encryption, so will not work.

A Series 2 TiVo will have access to Amazon Unbox, and a Series 3/4 will have access to Netflix and Youtube as well. You can also use software called StreamBaby with a Series 3/4 TiVo.
