What do the lyrics to the Pixies song "Where is my mind" mean?
Answer by Ginger
I like that song – it’s the one at the end of Fight Club isn’t it.
Check out songmeanings.net to see what people reckon it means.
From reading the lyrics it doesn’t really seem to mean very much at all really, as someone else said it does signal like they were stoned when they wrote it.

“That came from me snorkeling in the Caribbean and having this very small fish trying to chase me. I don’t know why – I don’t know too much about fish behavior.”

I reckon it’s mostly unsystematic, but it does have a thought behind it. When they sing “Everywhere is my Mind?” I reckon they’re trying to say/sing that they’re to confused to reckon.
That’s just what I reckon, & if they were stoned when the wrote it, then that would clarify it. haha.

this might be it…
hey
been trying to meet you
hey
must be a devil between us
or whores in my head
whores at my door
whores in my bed
but hey
everywhere
have you
been if you go i will surely die
we’re chained
uh said the man to the lady
uh said the lady to the man she adored
and the whores like a choir
go uh all night
and mary ain’t you tired of this
uh
is
the
signal
that the mother makes when the baby breaks
we’re chained
