Taking music off youtube illegal friend?
One of my friends has started taking music off youtube videos by some kind of ripper she got off the internet… I don’t like her doing this because I don’t want her to get caught for doing it – what can I tell her to stop? How can I show her that theres a excellent chance of getting caught doing that?
I’m a small confused… if she downloads the video first and then uses an offline program to rip the music from it, she won’t get caught? I reckon she is just by a program which directly rips the music from the webpage… you type in the URL and it will make an mp3

She is not downloading the .mp3, downloading the YouTube video is officially authorized, then a program that rips the signal does not use any online activity, so the largest way she could be found is by this question.
People have been fined but not for recording the signal of there PC.

Research all the people who have been fined for it. There have been people who’s lives were completely ruined because they were fined around $ 25,000.

Strictly speaking it is illegal, but lending a dvd or cd to friends is also illegal (look at the back of a dvd it will say.
The people who really get caught for piracy are those who make money off of it or those who help others get hold of pirate material. Your friend will not get caught. if everyone who did that got caught then there’d be millions of people in jail
It isnt worth going after one person who downloads a couple of songs. Its a waste of time and money

It’s illegal, but so is downloading music. It’s no different, no body’s going to arrest her or anything..

Hi, i’m trying ot help a friend rip music from a singing site: Singsnap.com
He is clueless in how to transfer songs he’s recorded online & has recorded over 300 songs on that site.
Anyways, I need to rip the videos and/or music online(the site has url links & html tags like Youtube) & i need to convert them to MPEG or MP3 Format.
I have a ripper that changes MPEG’s to MP3′s.. but does anyone know how I can do a streaming rip of videos or how I can rip online videos & music, ao I can help my friend?
BTW.. i tried downloading Real Player 11 Beta–which has a way to save online videos(i also downloaded a converter for the file format that Real Player 11 Beta formats the video at) but Real Player 11 Beta doesn’t work on my computer!!!!
