It depends on the score, but most often not. Many conductors or program directors will buy a variety of conductor’s scores to equate and contrast before making a pronouncement about what the all together will play, and buy sheet music for the individual members at that point. Since each all together differs slightly on the digit of members in each section, most ensembles order only enough sheet music for their members – having a set digit of instrumentation scores with the conductor’s score would be unwieldy, and, in most cases, wasteful.
