I want to start and internet radio station and a lot of hosting companies do not host streaming audio. I went to one that did and found that their customer service lacks tact and patience. I have never tried anything like this before and the program I want to use for the streaming audio needs 50 GB bandwidth. I found with my ancient hosting company has more than enough bandwidth but does not host streaming audio or record. Any suggestions?

With Radionomy, everyone is finally going to be able to make their own radio station on the Internet.- By beating into the contents of vast music libraries.- By integrating their own musical creations.- By adding their own audio content, sequences, reports and podcasts.

In this record, I answer a question from Bigmacbook via email who questions, “In your opinion what are the top 3 apps for mac to host a radio station” Thanks for the question Bigmacbook. I can’t really say I have three separate suggestions for you, but I do have some information regarding the technology used to host a radio station, and also free and paid software choices. To spill radio online, a well loved technology which was huge in the 1990s is my recommendation: It’s called Shoutcast. Shoutcast comes in innumerable forms, but you’ll find that there are paid solutions and ones you can build yourself. The trade offs with each involve hosting, bandwidth, time and configuration. Watch the record for more information on this topic. Thanks for the question Bigmacbook.
