If I upload music tracks on YouTube from well-known artists, is this illegal? If it is not allowed, why are there dozens of such videos on YouTube?

I don’t reckon it is illegal if the song or album has been unrestricted. If the song or album hasn’t been unrestricted, YouTube or the recording mark will usually take it down, same with music videos.
I’ve seen some cases where I saw a song up there, then a few days later it was taken down because it violated terms of agreements.
I’m guessing this goes for anything, if the legal owner of the song, movie, or record has a conundrum with it, I reckon YouTube has to take it down.

Well first of all, posting music videos is copyright infringement to the record companies. But, there are still a lot. Most of the music videos you will see are posted by the record companies, who are the rightful owners. So then it’s okay. Of course there are going to be some posted by normal users but they do get deleted by record companies often. So most of what you see will be posted by the record companies.

If you don’t have permission to upload their music then yes it’s illegal. There are more than “dozens” of illegal videos on YouTube because there is no way for users to report such videos. They are usualy only removed if YouTube’s copyright identification program discovers them or if the owners of the songs learn them and file a copyright dispute aver. In some instances they will allow the record to remain there but there may be a condition, for example, I uploaded a megamix of all the songs from Ministry of Sound’s 2009 Annual and it was identified by YouTube’s copyright identification program but they allowed it’s use but they were allowed to place ads on my record if they wanted and to view data about my record. Certain record marks are more diligant and protective of their music than others so it really depends what company owns the music as to if and how soon it gets removed.

you can upload anything you want. As to say its still going to be there when you go to the fridge and comeback, i would say no. Youtube is cracking down on that. i got a warning but i was allowed to keep mine. And it says some public in a couple states cant even see it (due to their rules of yahoo). Best advice is just make your own music and beats to your own videos you made. Additional wise it can and might be deleted. Companies are doing sweeps too. So thats a lot of public looking at whats out there.
