What can I do in the Christmas break?
My friends are mostly busy and I don’t want to be stuck at home doing nothing or the same thing over and over again (watch a movie, read, go online, listen to music, etc.). Especially, I don’t want to think of the recent breakup I just had and most of my friends are busy doing something else in the holidays. Any advice?

Volunteer at a nursing home…..these people love to have someone to talk to – especially if their family isn’t close to visit. Volunteer at a ‘soup’ kitchen or just volunteer in a hospital.

volunteering somewhere would be great. it helps the community and looks good on future job and school applications. local animal shelters (holidays are a big time for adoptions, and returns but animals need love too!), nursing homes, soup kitchens, the american red cross, etc. everyone of these and more could use an extra hand this time of year.

My suggestion is volunteer yourself so much that Christmas Break just flies by! I’m sure you have places, churches, retirement homes that would LOVE to receive help and assistance! Many retirement homes will allow visitors of your kind (Non family) to come and talk to those living there. It is a very nice thing to do especially since most people living in nursing homes are forgotten during the holidays (Usually every holiday :[ )
That was my plan but I have to buy my books for next semester so I’m working myself to death

Find 3 people you are close to that are having a tough time this year……..be there for them and help them out as much as you can. Whether that’s running errands, cooking or cleaning, or just making yourself available to listen.
At the end of the year 4 people will be all the better for your efforts.

I was listening to the ones on Yahoo Music but they changed their format in the last day or so and now just opening the main page crashes the entire system. Live365.com is good but I hate the lag which cuts off many songs right in the middle and then jumps forward to the last half of another.
Does anyone know of a good site to listen to?
