Usually there is a few seconds delay between the actual talking and the point you hear it on the air, which gives the station enough time to bleep out any curse words that might suddenly come out of a person’s mouth while still life live.

Answer by nv jack
Radio stations have a seven second delay from live to on the air, which gives them enough time to Bleep out anything they want. Have you ever heard the MC on the air tell public to turn their radios off while on the phone or they will be distracted.

Answer by Common Sense
They use an electronic delay system that delays what you hear by 7-10 seconds, allowing the board operator to cut out any verbal no-no’s before they go out on air.

Another episode of the exceptionally well loved “Danny Dumps”, a program hosted by GalaxyFM, a community FM radio station in Yorkshire, England. This time we meet Craig. A chap who wanted to question his girlfriend to marry him on Christmas Day, after a four year relationship. Only to find out his girlfriend was doing her married boss at the company’s Christmas party, which he found out through his friends and her colleagues. He then questioned radiohost Danny to dump her, live! www.galaxyfm.co.uk
