Buy and read books online?
by quapan
Is there a site where I can buy and read books online? I’ve always had distress with ebooks and formats. I can never get them to work, so i can’t read them. I know that Amazon.com will let you get the online version when you buy the book, but it’s not what I need. My class needs the book, but there weren’t any in the bookstore on campus and the library was out. The extra books will be coming in soon and I have to read part of a book for tomorrow. Does anyone have any thoughts? The book is Wide Sargasso Sea by Jean Rhys. I’ve looked online for free copies, but it’s copyrighted, so it’s not available.

No, unfortunately. Very few books can be read online, because of the dread of plagerism (in case you just copied it onto a hard disk and handed it out to your friends; a free book)
I’m sorry I couldn’t be of more help!
Can you help me? I am begging you! http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20080922182704AAQqrjw

You can try the later resources, which sell readable books and/or audio books online:
Amazon
Audible.com
ITunes
Librivox.org (free downloadable audio books- public domain)
Some public libraries (like the Brooklyn Public Libary)
I hope this helps.

Day 25
Twenty-five days in and by its first definition, I failed the project. I needed to end some homework that was really due online at midnight and I’m not going to place the project in front of my school work. This has caused me to realize that my first "rules" for the project were not very realistic for my life and what a "day" encompasses for me. My day certainly does not end at midnight (sometimes hours later), so I don’t reckon it is unreasonable to redefine the "rules" to say the later:
For the duration of 365 from January 1, 2010 until December 31, 2010, I will take at least one picture every "day" and post a picture to my project page (that life my flickr 365 set at the moment) to represent that "day". The definition of a "day" for this project will be the time period restricted by periods of sleep during night (between sunset and sunrise). In the event that I do not sleep during a agreed night, the end of that day and the beginning of the next shall be determined by the time of sunrise.
There. That is the definition of my 365 project from here on out. A small wordy I’ll admit but I reckon it covers all cases and pretty well defines a "day".
Anyway, I got some books in that I ordered for english class. Note the two League of Extraordinary Gentlemen graphic novels (just a fancy word for long comic book as far as I can tell). Persons should be fascinating to read. The Stephen King book isn’t for class though, I just wanted to get something to read for fun (whether it really gets read, who knows…).
I want to read the book “101 Dog Tricks” Buy Kyra Sundance, but They don’t sell that book in this… Country… and through Amazon and eBay it would take at least a month. Does anyone know any excellent free book reading sites? Please help! Thanks!
