What type of books sell best on eBay/half.com?
by Caro Wallis
I have a variety of books that I want to sell/give away. I reckon that recent bestsellers might be best suited for donation to the library for them to sell. I have some books which have been used as textbooks and are not constantly updated EVER year. I reckon I will sell these books on eBay.
What are some suggestions for persons with eBay experience?

I’ve sold textbooks on Half.com but not on eBay so I don’t know which you would make more on. The business about half.com is that you can list them on there at any time and they can just stay there until they sell. If you list them on eBay, you probably should do it right around the time fall or spring semesters start. And then if they don’t sell the first time you list them and you want to relist them, it’s another listing fee. So in my experience I wouldn’t place them on eBay. That’s just what I would do though.

There are some fantastic websites that allow you to trade CD’s, DVD’s etc. See my profile for link to titletrader and paperbackswap. This allows you to get rid of an item you no longer want and get something you do want in restore. Titletrader is awesome because you can trade books, dvd’s, cd’s, games and vhs tapes. So if you get rid of a book you may be able to get a dvd in exchange. I have found that doing ebay or amazon is pricey cause you don’t really get your money’s worth for these items and you have to pay fees etc.

I have hundreds of books & I don’t mind using the computer or mailing them out but I don’t know how to use ebay so I thought I would partner up with someone & after all the cost involved I may maybe tear the cost of the sale of each book.
How may maybe I find that person?
Do you reckon this would work?
any additional suggestions?
thank you!

You can simply question a friend or family member to show you the basics of ebay. Trust me it is not that hard. But if you want some help then again I would say go to a friend or family member you trust and see if they are wiling to help, they may want a cut of the profit though. I know I would if it was me lol.

Just use online buy back company. You can get an instant quote for your books on this website http://eaglesaver.com At checkout you will be able to print a free shipping mark and send your books to this company. They will pay you after your books arrive. They pay quick and they are a better business bureau member.
Hope it helps and excellent luck selling your books!

You may maybe try posting on craigslist with this sort of deal. Like someone else mentioned you may maybe use a site that buys them up to resell. Or use a community ebay seller to list them for you and tear the profit.
My advice would be to list on half.com or amazon, the listing process is incredibly simple (enter in your title or isbn#, enter in the condition of the item and a competitive price, then ship when you get an e-mail, that’s it). You’ll have to register with the site first if you are not already registered. They are both sites calculated to be simple to use and hold your hand throughout the process.
