Beyonce Music?
I was a huge fan of Destiny’s Child and I loved Beyonce’s first cd. But, I listened to clips on Amazon and I’m still unsure. Is Beyonce’s b-day worth buying? To me, it seems more hip-hop, which isn’t really my stylishness. So, have you bought her cd and do you like it?

I like her cd but there is some songs that are kinda hip/hop. But its still fantastic.
What do you reckon? Answer below!
Beloved, starring Danny Glover, Thandie Newton, Oprah Winfrey; OMP Soundtrack by Rachel Portman.
Oumou Sangare http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oz0H-GJd9Qw
African Children’s Choir http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_gZKSCk_UzM&p=E35CFEE3E5BFABEE&playnext=1&index=13
Anyone have artist/album recommendations with singing/music similar to above youtube clips?
Amazon.com has albums by Sangare and African Children’s Choir, but they all seem to be very upbeat.
I would delight in more somber, reflective arrangements similar to Beloved soundtrack, especially the acapella arrangements.

Not all their music is somber of course, but try an African-American women’s acapella group called “Sweet Honey in the Rock”. They have videos on Youtube, and you can sample some of their tracks on Amazon.com
Ladysmith Black Mambazo
You might try to find some recording of African-American spirituals and African folk songs
Some groups that specialize in this: Fisk Jubilee Singers; Morehouse College Glee Club. This is probably too upbeat, but try amazon.com to sample their entire album.

“On this week’s episode, Tim and Asha talk about Amazon’s new cloud-based music locker service, Beyonce splitting with her long-time administrator (her dad), The Beatles suing a website for illegally underselling their music, and Napster’s Sean Parker interested in buying Warner Music Group. The tweet of the week goes to a very influential electronic music producer who doesn’t like the fact that At&t bought T-mobile. We give a shout out to a friend of Tim’s who has a special record dedicated to the pun co-host. Plus they show case probably the largest record mashup the internet has ever seen! Slipknot vs Justin Bieber. With 5 words or less Tim and Asha go head to head with the live chat room reviewing videos for The Cars, Ladytron and TV on the Radio. ”
