How do you think yahoo answers plans on stoping and fixing all of the spam?
I have been a frequent yahoo answers users ever since 2007. I have posted 10 questions within the week, and 9/10 responces are public copy and pasting websites / emails to scam. I have never seen spam this terrible on any website, where did it come from and how does yahoo answers plot on blocking / stopping it?

I’ve gotta go with Ross on this, I doubt anything will get done. I was thinking about posting a URL, just to be a Jerk, but I may maybe reckon of a excellent one.

Yahoo claims that they stop 3/4 of the spam before it hits the site. We are seeing the additional 1/4. Which is a lot. Yahoo must be background up some “filters” because there are some recent changes. Click on some of the spammers’ avatars and you will see that some of them are suspended (OOPS) after they post 2 answers. They are not getting OOPS’d because of user reports since it happens so quick.
Yahoo still wants us to use the Report Abuse button as our main defense against spam. That is not adequate since the spammers set up 20 accounts per day. Each account dumps its daily limit of 20 answers. Then they come back and do it again tomorrow.
Go to the Suggestion Board ( “ABOUT” at the top of the page has the link) where users discuss the increase in spam. A live Yahoo employee reads every post on the Suggestion Board.

It seems that some answers are purposely second-hand by yahoo answers for some reason. I have had answers I have written that get second-hand, and have purposely followed them up for three days after the first “technical problems” message, only to find that every time I answer the question (at innumerable times of the day) the answer is second-hand as “technical problems are occurring”. Has anyone else experienced this?

Yahoo has a lot of glitches right now.
If you try to refresh the page may be that will work.
Or you might have to go to another question and come back to the one after a while.
They do not do it on purposes though. They are just having a lot of problems right now.

Of course answers aren’t “purposely second-hand”! It’s a hiccup. Next time just click the back button and try again, or click back to the question and refresh. You will often find your answer is there. Most often that happens because of “traffic”. When so many public are submitting answers at the same time, it can be more than the system can handle, which is why it may only last a few seconds. There is no underlying evil scheme.

You are assess. The error message seems most-likely to occur when you hit the SUBMIT button for a Q or A. It has nothing to do with what you wrote. Yahoo does not analyze your content before flashing “technical problems are occurring.” Several thousand additional users got the same message at the same time.
It usually earnings that Yahoo is working on the site. It would seem that they may maybe get the work done nearer if they shut down the site for 4 hours. The engineers said that they need the site to be running to see if their “fix” is working.
You can get an thought of when you will get the “technical problems” message. Hover your cursor over ANSWERS at the left side of the main Yahoo home page. If it says “Answers encountered problems…”, you are more likely to get the error message when you click SUBMIT after writing an answer.
This has been a conundrum for the last 7 days.
