How do I start an Online Radio Station?

I have 20+ years of radio programming and would like to launch a site that streams music content and DJs and eventually has ads. Looking for an affordable turn key solution where I can create content with Musicmaster or Selector at my home that will stream online, possibly have a listener cap to avoid outrageous license fees until I can attract sponsor or investor. Where do I start?

If you are a US resident, you are able to help to keep independent webcasters, such as Radio Paradise, available in the future by signing the online petition and open letter to the US Congress. We non-US residents will also benefit from the rescue by donating so as to remain enjoying a variety of choices via Internet radio.

I have been looking into ways to do some kind of “online radio” for my school, and Live365 looks good cause it covers the royalty fees but then again it doesn’t permit clubs to control the station (we figured we’d break that rule, not make it obvious of course). Podcasting overall looked better though because people can download it and listen to it freely without commercials, but it does not cover royalty fees. But for now I want to know what you prefer, and any advice is greatly appreciated.
