How much money do you receive when you give books to half price books?

cash is unlikely. they’ll give you store credit.

Not much. They are in the business to make a profit, so they won’t offer much to you. My roommate tried to sell some books to them, he had probably about $ 100 or more worth of books and they were going to only offer him about $ 20 or less.

Has anyone sold books there are gotten paid? How much do you really get? I’m going away to college and I’m trying to downsize by getting rid of a lot of my books. Most of them are in perfect condition and I bought them in the last two years, so they are recent titles.

If they’re mostly well loved titles, don’t expect to get much for them. I took a dozen or so hardback’s that I’d probably paid about $ 150 for and they offered me $ 3. I donated them instead.
