Pink Cadillac On Boardwalk
I took this photograph back in the mid 80′s I judge in Atlantic City. A radio station was broadcasting from the boardwalk and they had this pink 1959 Cadillac there. I loved the taillights on these cars.
I like jazz, and the town I live in is small and has only a few horrible 80′s radio stations. I listen to my ipod in the car, but it’s my same ancient music, and I’d like to hear a few new things every now and then without investing in new downloads, that can sometimes end up life not-so-fantastic.
Anyway, my car broke down and I rented a car with XM radio, and I really have excellent music to listen to while driving…all the time…it’s like a breath of fresh air. I want to have one in my car once it’s fixed. So, I checked the prices, I guess I can get the radio itself for around 100-200 bucks more or less, and the service costs 10-17 bucks a month, and there’s a contract.
So it’s all excellent up to here, but what am I missing? Are there some hidden costs, hassles, or annoyances that I’m unaware of that I should know about?
Please help me out on this one…I will award a best answer…
Thanks

When I had XM the only major complaint I had about he service was its sound compression. Every direct was so compressed it sounded flat. Since you have already experienced it, this may not be a concern for you.
The service plans are quarterly, 1 year, 2, years & 5 years and you can exchange at any time. You will have an initiation fee and must pay additional for Internet service and any additional receiver. Pay attention to the subscription fees, as they have been 3 increase in 2009 alone! But hey, nothing is free right?
Hope this helped.

I’ve had XM since the beginning. Did a small work for them at the beginning. Excellent public, excellent product (as you’ve found out), excellent value (to me at least).
Can’t imagine life without it. The only “con” is it’s a pay service – but not so much.
I reckon in your situation it’s an brilliant thought to treat yourself this holiday. I would suggest a version that has both mobile and home docking so you can use one subscription for both situations.
Get a new one or search the usual sites for a deal.
Go for it, delight in!
