ABOUT YAHOO! 360:
Your Yahoo account allows you access to innumerable Yahoo services – many of them are free. Yahoo! 360 beta is one of persons services.

When you start a Yahoo account, you get a Yahoo Profile (http://profiles.yahoo.com ) associated with that primary Yahoo ID. You can customize your profile so that public know something about you, but there are limits to what you can do with it (so far).

Yet you can choose to activate the Yahoo! 360 beta service on your account to have a more extensive profile. This profile also allows you to show an image on Y/A if you like. You can read more about Yahoo! 360 in this ancient press release: http://docs.yahoo.com/docs/pr/release1222.html. Similar to the updated Y!Profile, Y!360 is involved with social networking. You can use the service to connect with additional 360 spaces and meet new public. It’s also similar to MySpace and Facebook in that regard. 360 combines some Yahoo services (note: not very successfully) into one area.

If you want to activate 360, go to http://360.yahoo.com and click on the “Get Started” button to go through the process. Then, click on the teeny tiny “Yahoo 360 Home” link on the high right of that page or the 360 main page to enter the space.

Keep in mind that 360 is a beta service, so there are many bugs. If you have problems, check the Answers area or click on my Yahoo! Avatar to see the Starred Questions section in my Y/A profile.

Yahoo! 360° Kinda Sucks

I have pictures on my 360, but when I try to edit my yahoo info, it says I don’t have any 360 pictures. I do though.

Yahoo! Answers has said that your image must come from the Yahoo! Profile instead of Yahoo! 360, as of March 19, 2009.

TO USE AN IMAGE IN Y/A (additional than the Yahoo! Avatar):
- Go to the Yahoo! Profile (http://profiles.yahoo.com ) to upload the image. See http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/profiles/photos/01.html , http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/answers/profiles/profiles-751483.html , and http://yanswersblog.com/index.php/archives/2009/03/18/what%E2%80%99s-happening-to-my-image/ for further details.

- Click “My Profile” to the high right of this Yahoo! Answers page, then click “Edit My Info” in the top left box on the Answers profile page.
- In the “Picture” section, choose the “Use my Profiles image” option. You should choose that option whether the image is showing there or not. If the options reads “Use my 360 image” or you are unable to select anything in the picture section, you will have to wait for Yahoo to end adjusting your Y/A settings to be connected with the Yahoo! Profile. For example, my Y/A settings changed March 27 to allow me to select Y!Profile options.
- Click the “Preview” button, then the “Ok” button.
- Even if you are able to select the “Use my Profiles image” option, the image may not show up straight away. You will need to wait for the image to appear or try refreshing your web page.
